THE SPRING EDIT

Spring ties with fall as my favorite season of the year!! As I hear the newest addition to the blue bird family enthusiastically sing outside my window and the colorful new blooms bursting forth, I am reminded that spring symbolizes new life, a renewal of all things.... including fashion. Since the classics never go out of style, we will see a few similar trends from previous years but we will be adding a fun new twist to keep our look fresh. I will be sharing a few of my 2021 spring favorites, but the fun part is finding out what is just right for YOU!

THE TRENCH COAT
As the saying goes, April showers bring May flowers, so it wouldn’t be spring without a classy trench coat. Dramatic lapels, bold sleeves and interesting waistlines will give this decades-long classic spring item an updated spin. For an out-the-door polished look, grab that trench!!

PASTEL PASSION
Nothing quite says “spring” like pastels reminiscent of a beach sunset. With a palette ranging from mint green to buttercup yellow, there’s a hue for everyone. Try mixing and matching these pieces for a bold statement - a lilac handbag with a mint green coat, for example.

BELT IT
Cinching the waist has been around for centuries but the spring belt edit has an added flair - whether a bow for the girlie girl or a metal twist for a more edgy vibe, this classic piece has gotten a modern shakeup. Be creative and belt blazers, trenches and cardigans!!

BOOTCUT DENIM
2020 has certainly given us a stockpile of loungewear and joggers. The 70s carefree wide leg denim is back, and it marries comfort and style. Don’t save this iconic look for the weekend. Be bold by adding a sophisticated heel and boyfriend blazer to a darker wash jean for the office.

YELLOW AND BLUE ACCESSORIES
Baby, you were born to shine! Hand deliver the sun by adding a mustard or Robin’s egg blue handbag or boots to any outfit. The options are endless with these colorful accessories!! When styling, choose blacks and light greys, then those accessories will POP!

FLORALS
There is nothing more breathtaking than a field of wildflowers. Designers are getting their inspiration from nature this season and bringing bold and bright florals to the table. Floral motifs are showing up in maxi dresses to ballgowns. Florals are the perfect choice for almost any spring event. Whether your style is ultrafeminine, edgy leather or somewhere in between, styling playful florals can be exciting and you will wind up with a show stopping look.

THE PUFF SLEEVE

While we are no stranger to the oversized statement sleeve, the exaggerated silhouette is here to stay and raging hotter than ever. Whether it’s a balloon, billowy or gathered sleeve, it’s a great way to showcase your playful personality and unique style.
